Celebrating 100 Years of Discipleship

Madison Avenue Christian Church is planning for the celebration of its 100th anniversary this year. The congregation moved into its current home at 1530 Madison Avenue in 1913.  Stay tuned for news about MACC Centennial celebration events throughout the coming year.

Enquirer Shines a Light on MACC/NKU Care for the Needy

Northern Kentucky Enquirer - As Madison Avenue Christian Church celebrates a centennial anniversary this year, church officials are continuing their long standing tradition of helping the underserved in the community by partnering with the baccalaureate nursing program at Northern Kentucky University.

For the past four years, the NKU nursing program has provided basic health services at the church, but this year NKU Associate Professor of Nursing Kristine Pfendt said they are using a different model and curriculum to teach the community health practicum class.

She said in the past, clinical experience could include doing scoliosis screenings at a school or blood pressure readings at the university, but this year students are encouraged to take a more hands-on approach by really interacting with those they serve.

Over 200 Served at Community Christmas Dinner & Santa’s Workshop

Volunteers and friends of Madison Avenue Christian Church served over 200 hot Christmas dinners and held its annual Santa’s Workshop for families in need. Every child received a visit with Santa and a toy. Gifts of warm clothing, scarves, gloves and hats were offered for the adults who attended.  Thanks to all those who gave of their time and gifts to help make the annual event a success!

A special treat was a visit by Cincinnati Reds’ mascot, Gapper.

This Sunday, May 6th, Madison Avenue Christian Church welcomes the Tri-State Trumpet Ensemble for its worship service beginning at 10:45 a.m.

 Madison Avenue Christian Church will spend the day at Cane Ridge in Bourbon County, Kentucky, on Sunday May 20, 2012.  Buses will depart at 9 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. Cost is $17 and includes a sack lunch.  To reserve your seat on the bus, contact Kyle@mchurch.com.
