This Sunday, November 3rd, Madison Avenue Christian Church (Covington, Ky) will be celebrating the Dedication of the MACC building, which took place on November 30, 1913. It was an amazing month for the church, with a week of special services and celebrations. Newspaper accounts indicate that Madison Avenue was totally filled with people heading to the church on that day. It is the most important date in our history, and one of the most important dates in Covington in the early 1900’s.
This Sunday’s service is the Closing Ceremony of the year-long centennial celebration, when we actually celebrate the opening of the church.
This Sunday, Dr. Philip V. Miller, the 6th minister of MACC, will return to give the morning message. In addition, Phil and Dr. Robert McCallister started the Men of MACC singers in the early 1980’s, and Bob will also be at the morning worship, and a reunion of the Men of MACC singers will take place. They will sing three selections and the Chancel Choir will also sing, accompanied by trumpet. After church, there will be a reception with history displays of the church history.
